Kaiho is developed by Marc Larouche ("I," "me," "my"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.
Kaiho does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data anywhere but your own device. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no advertising in this app.
Everything you enter into Kaiho — your journal entries, timestamps, and reflection ratings — is saved locally on your device only. Nothing is sent to me, to Kaiho's developer, or to any third party. I have no access to your entries and no way to see them.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include this locally stored data in your personal encrypted device backup, the same way it backs up any other app's data. That backup is controlled by Apple and your iCloud account, not by me.
Notifications. If you turn on review reminders, Kaiho schedules local notifications on your device to let you know an entry is ready to revisit. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device. The notification text does not include the content of your entry.
Face ID / Passcode. If you turn on the app lock setting, Kaiho asks iOS to verify your identity using Face ID or your device passcode before letting you back into the app. This authentication happens entirely within Apple's system — Kaiho never receives or stores your biometric data.
I do not sell, rent, or share your data, because I never receive it in the first place. Kaiho has no backend server and makes no network requests to collect or transmit your information.
You can export your entries at any time as a text file using the "Export" feature, using your device's own share sheet to send it wherever you choose. You can delete individual entries within the app, or remove all data at once by deleting the app from your device.
Kaiho is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed for use by children. I do not knowingly collect information from children, and since the app collects no data from anyone, none is collected from children either.
If this policy changes, I will update the effective date above and post the revised version at the same location. Since Kaiho collects no data, changes are expected to be rare and minor.
